Britain needs reform

Common Sense Plan

People Before Politics

LOCAL PRIORITIES FOR CHORLEY

Chorley has a strong tradition of public service. Sir Lindsay Hoyle, as Speaker of the House of Commons, serves in a neutral role representing everyone, not a political party.

That same common-sense approach is what Chorley needs locally. Politics should be about solving real problems, not a political game of chess which never ends. It’s what the people want.

SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES

Chorley is a proud market town. Supporting local businesses, traders and independent shops keeps our town centre alive and protects local jobs.

CLEANER STREETS AND LOCAL PRIDE

Everyone deserves to live in a clean, well looked after community. Tools like the Love Clean Streets app make it easy to report problems so they can be dealt with quickly. Keeping Chorley clean should be standard, not a photo opportunity.

POTHOLES AND ROAD REPAIRS

Road repairs are driven by reporting. The more issues that are logged, the more likely they are to be prioritised by Lancashire County Council.

Last year, Tootell Street was repaired after consistent reporting from local taxi trade.

If you drive over the same pothole every day, ask yourself one simple question. Have you reported it?

This needs to be a community effort. The more people report issues, the stronger the case for action. We will continue to follow up with Lancashire County Council to ensure repairs are delivered.

SAFER AND ACCESSIBLE TRANSPORT

Public safety and accessibility matter, especially for elderly residents and vulnerable passengers. Supporting safe taxi services and improving accessibility helps everyone travel with confidence.

LISTENING TO THE COMMUNITY

Too often, people feel their concerns are not heard. That needs to change.

We will hold regular workshops and community clinics where residents can raise issues and help shape local decisions. Open dialogue has been lost over time and it is something we need to bring back.

We should focus on what really matters, strong services, safe streets and a community we can be proud of. It is time to restore values of respect, responsibility and community spirit.

A BETTER FUTURE FOR CHORLEY

Change will not be easy, but it is possible. If you want change, you have to vote on 7th May 2026. Let’s make Chorley a better place for ourselves our families and for the future.
